Pastor Hans and Janet are currently pastoring Maple Creek Family Church with their son Paul Martens and his wife, Jill. They also have a daughter, Janelle.
Hans was born in Denmark and grew up as an atheist. He came to Maple Creek, Saskatchewan in1977 to work on a ranch near town.. It was on that ranch that Hans met his wife whom he married in September of 1979. Together they built a log house in the Cypress Hills. In 1988 both Janet and Hans were born again when a couple of friends from the Pentecostal church they are pastoring today reached out to them.
Hans received B.Ed from the University of Lethbridge in1990, and was principal of a Christian school in Brooks, Alberta when he felt a call to be a pastor. After studying at the Alliance Seminary in Regina, he moved back to Maple Creek where he has pastored the church for 25 years.
